Performing In Repertory December 8 - 16, 2012

Adapted by: Frank Gabrielson and John Kane | Music and Lyrics of the MGM motion picture score by: Harold Arlen and E. Y. Harburg

In continuing the tradition of CSC’s 2010’s musical production of Oliver! and 2011's musical production of A Christmas Carol, The Musical, the Centenary Stage Company production of The Wizard of Oz celebrates all the theatre programs of the Centenary Stage and, though not a YPW event, will include a number of Young Performers in its production. The production details and photos may be viewed on this Web site on our The Wizard of Oz event page. It takes place in the Sitnik Theater of the Lackland Center.

"The show is directed and gorgeously choreographed by Michael Blevins... large-scale dance numbers have a slightly psychedelic feeling about them" -- Examiner.com

"The musical highlight is, what else could it be, the song that was crowned the number one movie musical song of the 20th Century, the Academy Award-winning "Over The Rainbow." The song receives a particularly fine presentation by the very impressive young lady who is Dorothy Gale-McKenzie Custin (YPW Alumnus). She not only has a beautiful voice, but is a fine, charming actress who does the magic red shoes proud." -- Examiner.com
